    Chloroquine phosphate solubility storage

Chloroquine has been extensively used in mass drug administrations, which may have contributed to the emergence and spread of resistance. It is recommended to check if chloroquine is still effective in the region prior to using it.

Chloroquine phosphate 50-63-5 is an antimalarial drug. Inhibits autophagy in a variety of cell lines 1. Induces cell death in breast cancer cell lines and displays antitumor and antimetastatic activity in mouse models of breast cancer 2. Chloroquine phosphate, USP is a 4-aminoquinoline compound for oral administration. It is a white crystalline powder; odorless; has a bitter taste, and is discolored slowly on exposure to light. It is freely soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol, in chloroform and in ether. Mean bioavailability from tablets of chloroquine phosphate is 89%. Chloroquine is widely distributed in body tissues such as the eyes, kidneys, liver, and lungs where retention is prolonged. The elimination of chloroquine is slow, with a multi exponential decline in plasma concentration.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend against treatment of malaria with chloroquine alone due to more effective combinations. In areas where resistance is present, other antimalarials, such as mefloquine or atovaquone, may be used instead.

Chloroquine phosphate tablets, Chloroquine phosphate, USP, is a 4-aminoquinoline compound for oral administration. It is a white, odorless, bitter tasting, crystalline substance, freely soluble inwater. Chloroquine phosphate tablets are an antimalarial and amebicidal drug. On the basis of the solubility data, it can be observed that the highest solubilities for chloroquine diphosphate and 4,7-dichloroquinoline were obtained in pure water and tetrahydrofuran, respectively. The temperature dependence of the solubility data was correlated by the modified Apelblat model.
